The Newton Ranch at Gloss Mountain Outfitters features beautiful scenery, peaceful ambiance, privacy and is home to Cedar Haven Lodge. The lodge and ranch combination is available as a wedding venue, for a romantic weekend getaway, family vacations, receptions, retreats and more.
Cedar Haven Lodge is a beautiful and natural custom log home. The flexible design allows the lodge to be intimate and yet host small and large gatherings. The lodge is located in the Gloss Mountains and is surrounded by a tree and mesa-lined valley. In close proximity to the lodge, the remains of an early-1900s barn is the perfect place for campfire activities and adds to the overall experience of Cedar Haven Lodge.
The main floor of Cedar Haven Lodge has a full kitchen, a country table that seats 10, a bar that seats five and a living room. The loft can be used as a sleeping area or gathering place. Guests can walk out on a full balcony to relax and view the creek and mesas. The basement level provides more seating, a mini-kitchen and a sleeping area, plus two tables for dining or gaming. It is also handicapped accessible. Covered porches on all sides and levels of the home provide added entertainment space and seating.
Outdoor Experiences
You may choose to enjoy the outdoors by sitting on the porch in a rocking chair or playing a game, but you might also choose to take a leisurely stroll down a tree lined path or a strenuous hike over mesas and through canyons.
There are opportunities to see deer, turkey, birds, bats and many of the small creatures that make up the surrounding ecosystem. Several “couples” of colorful collared lizards live in the terraces of the lodge and old barn. Visitors will also enjoy photography, stargazing, wildflowers, fishing and wading in the creek.
Enjoy horseback riding amidst beautiful scenery. Challenging trails include natural rock bridges, creek beds and trails that are even with the treetops. Horse rental is not available, but guided rides are available to those who have their own horses.
In addition, six 50-amp sites with potable water are located on-site. These sites are suitable for RV or equestrian camping and are close to the corrals and arena. Tent camping is available in two sites that have fire rings, log seating and firewood. The more adventurous can choose their own campsite.
Since each visit is customized, reservations are required. Amenities include Internet access, television, laundry service, Netflix and full kitchens.
If you decide to leave the ranch, proximity to Woodward, Waynoka, Fairview and Enid allows the opportunity for top-notch dining, movies, shopping, museums and historical points of interest. The six state parks in the area provide birding, caving, fishing, ATVing and golfing.
